About Eric

Eric has been videotaping professionally for about four years, and as a hobby since 1989.
Once Eric made his decision to take a leap of faith and pursue his interest in videography and graphic design as a career, the opportunity to co-found Wyeth Digital Wizards presented itself. Apart from his roles as a videographer, editor, director and producer, Eric also serves as a graphic artist, having designed many of the graphics seen on his web site, brochures, and DVD menus. In addition, he also authors his company’s DVD content. It was the gained experience from his company that allowed him to create, direct and produce the independent short film, Icarus.
Eric’s current interests lie in exploring opportunities in new media, specifically, the video podcast “How-To,” which is a collaboration between himself and Madeline Merced.
Eric works and lives in Madison, Wisconsin with his lovely wife Judy and his shy cat Nova.
Madeline Merced and Eric Wyeth met on the set of a locally produced teen-oriented TV show, where Madeline hosted and Eric videotaped and edited. They soon developed a strong working relationship and began collaborating on original segments for the show. After departing the show at roughly the same time,
Eric redirected his attention to his small videography business, and Madeline, having had the germ of an idea that would later become How-To, began documenting and researching her concept.
It was a couple of months later, in the spring of 2004, that Eric approached Madeline about starring in a short film that he was developing for a screening at a local filmmaker’s club. During taping of the movie, Icarus, Madeline discussed some of her ideas for her growing vision. They met together off and on for a few more months and eventually put together a pilot episode, shot on spec, which was marketed to cable television networks. Having gotten some encouraging advice, but no sale, Madeline and Eric looked at emerging media technologies, and realized video podcasting was their solution to gaining an audience for “How To.”
